Which nation was called "Dragovites"? Which nation is called "Slavic Macedonians"??

The Dragovici nation, the Dragovites (also Draguvites or Druguvites), wish to be called "Macedonians", and prefer to believe that they are descended from an ancient greco-phrygian tribe, the Makedonae, but nevertheless owe nothing whatsoever to anything greek (Mycenean or Achaean, Hellenic, Romean or Romaniotic, and neo-Hellenic).

Since the dawn of Time, Greeks have always been of mixed stock!
Modern Greeks owe a lot to their partner-nations in both the Byzantine (=Romania) and the Ottoman (=Rum Turkiye) Empires, even though they claim direct descent from the Classical Greeks. Before the national "awakenings" of the 19th c AD, and the establishment of the neo-Hellenic State, Greeks called themselves "Romioi" and welcomed for example Arvanites (Albanians), Mardaites (Lebanese) and Dragovites (slavic Macedonians) as their own people.

Further back in time, during their Hellenistic period (4th BC - 3d AD), Greeks welcomed members of ANY nation, as they came up with the notion of true Cosmopolitanism. Classical Greeks (8th - 4th c BC) had been more exclusivist. Yet many nations mingled with those very Greeks. Even among the xenophobe Scythians, formed the greco-scythian tribes of the Callipedae, also the Gelonoi, who flourished in a city-state, deep in the land of the proto-Slavic nation of the Voudinoi.

It should be noted that even the Classical Greeks were formed from the mixture of, at least, six distinct nations: Achaeans (proto-Greeks, kin to the proto-Phrygians: ΑχαϊFοί, or Ahhuava, or Akhaivassa), Danaoi (greco-semitic), Pelasgoi (Indoeuropean or Arioeuropean, kin to the Hittites), Leleges (Indoeuropean, kin to the Luwians), Telkhines (Cycladic Civilisation), Cretans (hamitic, kin to the ancient Garamantes, and modern Berbers, like the Tuaregs). From these nations of the Aegean, only the Achaeans can be called genuine greek or proto-hellenic.

Yet, long after the formation of the Classical Greeks, people from nations like the Philistines, the Israelite Dan tribe, the Elymians, the Tartessians & Turditanoi, the Etruscans, the Cilicians, the Lydians, the Carians, even the Phoenicians, loved the Greek Civilisation, as they believed that their origins derived from the non-greek nations of the Aegean that eventually had contributed to the creation of the Classical Greeks, the Hellenes...

Originally, Macedonians were an achaean greek tribe from Pieria, MAKEDNOI, that overran Hemathia, where they mixed with the indigenous Phrygians, evolving into "Macedonians", while a branch prefered to move southwards, becoming "Magnetes". These events occurred between the 13th c - 8th c BC.

Macedonians greatly expanded their rule to include the entire historical Macedonia, between the Persian campaigns in Europe, and the death of Philip II (early 5th c - late 4th c BC). The glory that was Macedonia, introduced Hellenism into the Hellenistic Era (conventionally 323-31 BC, actually 4th c BC - 3d c AD).

However, the Republic of Rome took over the Hellenistic states, including mighty Macedonia. As time passed by, all of the Hellenes (Greeks) came to be called: "Romaioi", "Romanoi", "Romioi".

Any later use of the term "Macedonia", refers to fancy revivals of a brilliant brandname.

Notable dignitaries in the area of Macedonia:
· Macedonian Dynasty of
Ρωμανία (Romeo-Armenian) 9th c - 11th c AD
· Cometopuli Dynasty of Bulgaria (Dragovite) 10th -11th c AD
· arkhon & patrician Nikolaos Nikolic (Romeo-Dragovite) 10th - 11th AD
· arkhon Dobromir Chrysos (Romeo-Dragovite) 12th c AD
· emperor Constantine Tikh of Bulgaria (Dragovite) 13th c AD
· Houses of Ohmucevic and Skoroevic (Dragovite) 16th c AD onwards
· Makedonomakhoi (= Macedonian Fighters, neo-Hellenic) early 20th c AD

Who were the Dragovites? And, why are they currently called "Macedonians"?

The cosmopolitan spirit of the Greeks, which revives during the Middle Ages as "Romiosyni" from the 9th c AD onwards, welcomes the fresh arrivals into the Balkans, that had devastated the Peninsula during the past two centuries (7th - 9th c AD). So new nations, like the Zagorites, the Melingi, the Ezerites, the Smoleans, among other people of slavic stock, confidently join the grandeur of the Romii. However, people from several sclavenite nations, like the Bergites (Brsjati), the Velegisites, the Sagudates and the Reghines, prefer to join the Dragovites instead, as a distinct national entity.

The reason that this occured is obvious. The Dragovites found themselves occupying the region of Macedonia, on the borderline of the Romii (who up to then were basically Greeks, Vlakhi (speakers of several neo-Latin tongues) and Albanians, in the european part of the Empire), towards the Bulgarians and the Serbs, the two nations that mainly acted competitively toward the Romiosyni, dynamically claiming the hegemony in the Empire's dominions, by building up their own Roman-like states, during 10th - 15th c AD the Bulgarians, and during 14th - 15th c AD the Serbs. It should be noted that the vigorous Bulgarian Realm remained multinational for centuries, thus naturally claiming the universality of the Empire of the Romani (Romania, today known as the "Byzantium"), but also boosting the self-determination of the Dragovites.

Beware: Hatred is truly venomous!

Truth is all that matters. In this case, historical accuracy! However, it doesn't justify the existence of extreme ideologies in both Greece (Hellas) and the Slavic Macedonia (Dragovicia). The notions of Racial Purity, as believed by the Nazis, and National Exclusivity, as believed by the Zionists, drive people to the edge. Hatred feeds our most primitive reflexes. Feeling loads of love for our exclusive club, our group of people, our nation, Patriotism, needs a lot of attention, as it also nourishes each individual's inner beast. Under this light, irrational dogmas like Racial Purity and National Exclusivity, should be consciously avoided.

Patrons of the Far Right go ahead , if you fancy for your followers to act in a state of brutal insanity. Go ahead, and earn the curses of Humanity...
